Federal Student Aid
is pleased to announce the availability of the July 2006 version of the
2006-2007 ISIR Guide. This version includes changes as a result of the
Higher Education Reconciliation Act of 2005 (the HERA), Pub. L. 109-171.
More information on the HERA is described in Dear
Colleague Letter GEN-06-05 (http://www.ifap.ed.gov/dpcletters/GEN0605.html).
Additional changes to the guide have also been made that further clarify
data or update inaccuracies.
The ISIR Guide assists financial aid administrators with interpreting
the information contained in electronic Institutional Student Information
Records (ISIRs) returned to schools by the Central Processing System (CPS).
The term "ISIR" refers to all processed student information
records that the CPS sends to institutions electronically.
The updated 2006-2007 ISIR Guide is available in PDF format on the Information
for Financial Aid Professionals (IFAP) Web site, located at http://ifap.ed.gov.
