This Web site provides users with an opportunity to increase their knowledge of the financial aid process, become familiar with the various types of federal student aid that are available, and investigate other sources of aid, such as grants and scholarships. Using the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) on the Web site, students can apply for aid in English or in Spanish. In addition, students can check the status of their financial aid application and use their Federal Student Aid PIN to view their Student Aid Report (SAR) information, correct their application data, and electronically sign their application. Parents can also use their Federal Student Aid PINs to sign their children's financial aid applications electronically.
You can use the Federal School Code Search on FAFSA on the Web to search for or verify a Federal School Code. Students enter these codes on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to indicate which postsecondary schools will receive the processed application results.
On this Web site users can perform such functions as apply for a Federal Student Aid PIN, check the status of a PIN, change a PIN, and disable a PIN. Along with the user's personal information, the PIN serves as an electronic signature when entered on the FAFSA on the Web site. The PIN also serves as an identifier to let the student access his or her personal information in various U.S. Department of Education systems.
