Summary: This letter announces the availability of an update to the FSA Coach training suite. FSA Coach Basic Training for Foreign Schools, an introductory web-based tutorial on federal student aid program administration in a foreign school setting, has now been updated for the 2016-2017 Award Year.

Dear Colleague:

We are pleased to announce the availability of an updated course within the FSA Coach training suite. The Basic Training for Foreign Schools course, now updated for the 2016-2017 Award Year, offers a self-paced, interactive training opportunity for financial aid administrators and school officials working in a foreign school setting.

FSA Coach Basic Training for Foreign Schools offers 27 lessons and more than 30 hours of training in the fundamentals of federal student aid program administration with a focus on foreign school participation in the William D. Ford Federal Direct Loan (Direct Loan) Program.

All FSA Coach lessons can be completed individually or as a full course, allowing users to tailor the training to their specific needs. In addition, the lessons feature hyperlinks to other Federal Student Aid information and products, interactive exercises, review questions, and quizzes that help learners assess their mastery of the course material.

The updated FSA Coach course is available on the Federal Student Aid E-Training website, located at https://fsatraining.info/login.

To access the training, log in to Federal Student Aid E-Training with your username and password. After logging in, point your cursor to "FSA Coach" on the main menu bar. From the drop-down menu that appears, choose “Coach Basic for Foreign Schools 2016-2017” to launch the course.

Note: If you do not have a username and password for Federal Student Aid E-Training, select "Create new account" from the home page and follow the instructions to create a username and password.

The training may also be accessed from the Information for Financial Aid Professionals (IFAP) website at https://ifap.ed.gov/ifap/fsacoach.jsp.

In the coming months, we will announce a new addition to the FSA Coach training suite, the Advanced Training course. This new course will offer training in topics such as cash management, gainful employment, and program review preparation, as well as provide a primer for new financial aid directors.

We hope you enjoy the updated FSA Coach Basic Training for Foreign Schools course. We welcome your questions or comments in the E-Training Help Center, accessible from the Federal Student Aid E-Training home page.
