Summary: This letter announces Federal Student Aid’s instructor-led, online training sessions for business officers on Direct Loan participation, funding, and cash management.

Dear Colleague:

We are pleased to announce instructor-led, online training for business officers on the William D. Ford Federal Direct Loan (Direct Loan) Program. Two webinars will be offered related to key aspects of Direct Loan participation, funding, and cash management. Each webinar is designed for business office staff at schools who are new to the Direct Loan Program and who will maintain, fund, and reconcile Direct Loans.

We will present this information in two 90-minute sessions and will offer each session multiple times to provide ample opportunity for those interested in attending.

The webinar “Participation and Funding” provides an overview of the role of the business officer in administering the Direct Loan Program and covers initial participation issues and reconciliation. Key information about Direct Loan funding, including establishing access to funds and requesting funds from the G5 Web site, will also be discussed. This webinar will be offered:

  • Tuesday, March 16, 2010, 1:30 P.M. (ET)

  • Tuesday, March 23, 2010, 1:30 P.M. (ET)

  • Tuesday, April 6, 2010, 1:30 P.M. (ET)

  • Tuesday, April 20, 2010, 1:30 P.M. (ET)
