Subject: Training Recording - Direct Loan Reconciliation (Interactive)

Summary: This letter reminds the community of Federal Student Aid’s recorded training session that provides a review of monthly Direct Loan reconciliation in an interactive format.

Dear Colleague:

We would like to remind the community of the availability of a recorded training session that offers an interactive opportunity to learn more about the monthly reconciliation process for the William D. Ford Federal Direct Loan (Direct Loan) Program. This 70 minute training session, first announced in December 2010, is intended for financial aid and business office personnel who are responsible for reconciling and funding Direct Loans. Staff who are new to financial aid or new to the Direct Loan Program will benefit from this training.

Training participants explore the process of monthly reconciliation using a Participant's Guide, which is used as a reference throughout the training and is a valuable resource for future use. The recorded training session reviews how to identify and avoid common cash and disbursement discrepancies, as well as highlights reports, tools, and resources that are available to assist schools with timely reconciliation. Participants also work through a case study to further explore each step in the monthly Direct Loan reconciliation process.

No registration is required to view the recorded training session. To view the session, click on this link:
