Subject: Live Internet Webinar - EDESuite Software Upgrades for 2018-2019 and Beyond

Summary: This letter announces an upcoming webinar from Federal Student Aid that will provide information about a significant upgrade to the EDESuite software, beginning with the release of EDExpress 2018-2019, Release 1.0 later this year.

Dear Colleague:

We are pleased to announce instructor-led, online training that will describe an upgrade to the core programming language for the EDESuite software, beginning with the late September 2017 release of EDExpress 2018-2019, Release 1.0. EDESuite software products include EDExpress and the Direct Loan (DL) Tools for Windows software.

During the webinar, we will walk participants through key elements of the software upgrade, including global improvements to functionality and security and the removal of outdated or obsolete functionality. We will also review the updated minimum and optimal system configuration information, described in a March 7, 2017 Electronic Announcement, which will impact EDExpress 2018-2019, Release 1.0 and all EDESuite software released after that.

This training is intended for financial aid office personnel who work with the EDESuite software or anyone who needs to know more about the upcoming functionality changes. This may include IT staff who would like to learn more about the changes to the minimum and optimal system requirements to successfully operate the EDESuite software.

We will present this information in one 90-minute session offered on Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at 3:00 P.M. (ET).

Advance registration is required for this training and will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. To allow for as many participants as possible, we strongly encourage groups to view the webinar from a single location if accommodations allow. If viewing as a group, only one person from the group needs to register. To register for the webinar, click on this link:

Once registered, we will send an email confirmation to the trainee. The trainee should retain this confirmation, as it contains important information, including linking and log in information for the website, system test links, and cancellation information. If unable to attend, we request that the trainee cancel his or her registration so that individuals who wish to attend may do so.

Note: If you do not receive the email confirmation, please check your junk or spam email folder and notify your IT administrator that messages from the email address “FSA_Internet_Registration@ed.gov” should not be blocked.

Presentation materials will be available for each trainee to download after he or she signs in to the webinar. During the webinar, trainees will be able to ask questions electronically using their computers.

We look forward to your participation in this instructor-led, online training opportunity. If you have questions about this training opportunity, please contact Glenn Kirksey at glenn.kirksey@ed.gov.

Sincerely,

John Brooks
