Subject: EDExpress Online Training - Release of Third EDExpress Online Training for 2010-2011 Module

Summary: This letter announces Federal Student Aid's release of the third module of EDExpress Online Training for 2010-2011. The third module covers software set up, Global functions, Packaging, and Application Processing using FAA Access to CPS Online.

Dear Colleague:

We are pleased to announce our release of the third module of EDExpress Online Training for 2010-2011, the Web-based training product that teaches users the basic skills needed to access and navigate the 2010-2011 EDExpress and EDconnect software. The third module covers software set up, Global functions, Packaging, and Application Processing using FAA Access to CPS Online. Additionally, this module includes training for new users of the EDconnect data transmission software as well as updated “What’s New” information.

The module is available on the Information for Financial Aid Professionals (IFAP) Web site at http://ifap.ed.gov/edexpress/1011index.html.

New for 2010-2011: As described with the release of the first and second modules, EDExpress Online Training, formerly referred to as “EDExpress Basics,” has been redesigned for 2010-2011 with a new interface and lesson structure, offering users an enhanced training experience.

This self-paced training is intended for financial aid office staff with day-to-day responsibilities that involve using the EDExpress software. By using the software in a simulated environment, users will gain an understanding of the fundamental EDExpress and EDconnect functions. As such, this training is a resource for on-the-job training and re-training in the use of EDExpress.

A full version of the training that is compliant with Section 508 of the Americans with Disabilities Act is planned for release in mid-September 2010. We will inform the community of the availability of this version in a forthcoming Training Announcement posted on the IFAP Web site.

We look forward to your use of EDExpress Online Training for 2010-2011. If you have questions about this Web-based training product, please contact David Bartlett at david.bartlett@ed.gov or Mark Gerhard at mark.gerhard@ed.gov.

Sincerely,

Jana Hernandes
