JOB SUMMARY: Join the team that develops and implements policies and guidance for the Federal student assistance programs that serve 15 million students attending college or career schools.  The incumbent is a key member of a team of staff dedicated to this effort in the Office of Postsecondary Education in the Department of Education.  The incumbent has expert knowledge of the legislation and regulations governing all student financial aid programs sponsored by the Department of Education including a comprehensive understanding of applicable statutes, policies and historical precedents governing the Title IV programs and provides high level technical assistance to management, professionals at higher education institutions, and the general public.

KEY REQUIREMENTS:  Relocation expenses will not be paid. Must be a U.S. citizen. Must complete a background investigation and fingerprint check. May be required to complete a one-year probationary period. If applicable--Selective Service Registration (Males born after 12/31/1959).
