Subject: Beta Test Volunteers Needed for New TDClient Versions to Include Linux

We received a significant number of inquiries regarding a Linux version of TDClient in response to the Beta Test Volunteers Needed for New TDClient Versions Electronic Announcement posted on July 22, 2010 on the Information for Financial Aid Professionals (IFAP) Web site.

A Linux version is planned for the upcoming release of TDClient. Rollout is expected to begin in December 2010. In preparation for this release and based on overwhelming response from the community, we are now also recruiting schools and servicers to participate in the beta test of TDClient for the Linux operating system.

Beta testing is scheduled for early September 2010, though an exact date has not yet been determined. Please note that you must have your own Linux environment on which to execute beta tests. You will not be provided with a Linux environment.

In addition, we are still looking for beta testers for the following operating systems/platforms:

  • MVS/zOS
  • AIX
  • AS400

During the beta test, participants will be given access to an in-development version of the TDClient software and asked to replicate typical usage of the software in a mock-production environment. Participants will report any problems encountered and submit a summary report detailing test findings and software suggestions for our analysis.

If you are interested in being considered as a beta test participant, please send an e-mail to rsuchak@2020llc.com and jamie.steapp@vangent.com with the subject line "Attention: TDClient Beta Testing" and provide the following information no later than August 6, 2010:

     1) School name and TG Number
     2) Primary and secondary testing contact names, telephone numbers, and e-mail addresses
     3) Platform or operating system
     4) FTP download capability (i.e., can you upload and download files from an FTP server?)

We will contact all beta test volunteers by August 13, 2010. If your school is selected for participation, further information will be provided by e-mail at that time.

We appreciate your interest in TDClient and the Student Aid Internet Gateway (SAIG) and look forward to hearing from you.
