Subject: Labor Day Federal Holiday Processing and Customer Service Hours (Updated August 30, 2018)

Note: On August 30, 2018, we added information about a necessary outage of student/parent/borrower-facing websites on September 1 and 2, 2018.

Our federal offices as well as our Title IV processors and contact centers will be closed on Monday, September 3, 2018 to observe the Labor Day federal holiday. See the attachment for the various centers’ operation status on the holiday.

September 1-2, 2018 Outage

From 10 p.m. Eastern time (ET) on Saturday, September 1, 2018, until Noon ET on Sunday, September 2, 2018, users will be unable to access the websites and systems listed below. Users attempting to access an impacted website or system during this outage period will receive an error message informing them that the page cannot be found or that the site is unavailable due to maintenance.

  • Borrower Defense to Loan Repayment (customers may access the online application at borrowerdischarge.ed.gov during the outage but will not be able to authenticate with an FSA ID)

  • fafsa.gov

  • Federal Student Aid Feedback System (customers may access the system directly at feedback.studentaid.ed.gov during the outage but will not be able to authenticate with an FSA ID)

  • FSA ID

  • National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS) Student Access

  • StudentAid.gov My Federal Student Aid functionality

  • StudentLoans.gov (including the Teacher Cancellation Low Income (TCLI) Directory)
