Subject: Participants Needed for End-User Documentation Feedback Discussion at Federal Student Aid Conference in Nashville

Every fall, we post a series of process guides and other technical user documentation for financial aid administrators that highlight enhancements and other changes we are planning for our application processing system, associated Web sites, and PC software for the upcoming cycle. These documents include:

  • Summary of Changes for the Application Processing System
  • School Electronic Process Guide
  • Student Web Application Products Process Guide
  • ISIR Guide
  • EFC Formula Guide

In an effort to gauge the effectiveness of these documents and improve our understanding of your informational needs, we are recruiting schools and servicers attending the Federal Student Aid Conference in Nashville, Tennessee to participate in a feedback discussion regarding our annual guides. This 90-minute interactive discussion will occur on December 2, 2009 at the conference site in Nashville and will be scheduled to avoid conflicts with training sessions and other major conference events.

If you are familiar with any of the guides referenced earlier in this message and plan to attend the conference in Nashville, please consider volunteering to participate in this discussion. To volunteer, send an e-mail to CPSSAIG@ed.gov with the subject line “Attention: Nashville Documentation Feedback Discussion” and include a contact name and e-mail address we can use for follow-up communications.

Meeting participants will be provided with a packet of documentation samples and further information in advance of the Nashville conference so they can gather feedback from their staff and more effectively prepare for the discussion.

Please note attendance will be limited for this discussion. We will select participants on a first-come-first-served basis, but will also strive to select attendees representing a wide variety of processing environments to facilitate a diverse range of feedback.

We appreciate your interest and look forward to hearing from you.
