Subject: Gainful Employment Electronic Announcement #72 - Updated NSLDS Gainful Employment User Guide

We are pleased to announce the availability of an updated version of the National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS) Gainful Employment User Guide, now available on the NSLDS User Documentation page on the Information for Financial Aid Professionals (IFAP) Web site.

In this update we have expanded Chapter 5 to include more detailed information about the GE Completers List. As described in GE Electronic Announcement #71, NSLDS will generate and send the Draft GE Completers Lists later this winter. The Draft GE Completers List will be pushed to a school's designated Student Aid Internet Gateway (SAIG) mailbox, if the school has one or more GE Programs. Schools will have 45 days to review and challenge the information in the file. NSLDS will then send each school its Final GE Completers List.

Note: To assist schools with understanding how to read the GE Completers List, we also offered a webinar last month titled "Interpreting the GE Completers List." The webinar recording, transcript, and presentation slides are available on the IFAP Web site. Refer to Dear Colleague Letter ANN-15-17 for instructions on how to access the recorded webinar information.
